Just a general comment if I may: for drawings and graphics (especially with only a few colours) GIF is a better format than JPEG. You'd get both a smaller file size and a better quality, too.
(Of course, for photographs and the like JPEG is the far superiour format - it's brilliant for colour transitions etc.)
